“Thus cake was for a friend at work who’s hubby was turning 42 and was depressed about this! Therefore Marvin the paranoid android was hand made from sugarpaste holding an edible dont panic flag! the candles represent 42 in binary numbers ( this was a private joke cake!). Top layer in rich choc cake, bottom carrot cake sandwhiched with orange buttercream.”

AHAHAHHAHA. Now all they have to do is make sure that thing (what is it? A biscuit? A mushroom? A strange bread-pastry? I like how I’m assuming it’s edible..) is at least palatable and make it accessible to me and they’ve got themselves a loyal customer. Yes, I will buy it just for the packaging.
Ha ha! I’m so uncreative… I was honestly taken back by the product’s packaging after seeing the second picture, using the product as the afro.. Genius. Anyways, so it says “Black melon bread”. The character is a guy called Tanaka from his manga, “Afro Tanaka”. I’ve not read any of the manga, but from what I’ve seen it looks pretty humorous. =)
Melon bread: “They are made from an enriched dough covered in a thin layer of crispy cookie dough. Their appearance resembles a melon, such as a rock melon (cantaloupe). They are not traditionally melon flavored, but in recent times it has become popular for manufacturers to add melon to melon bread”. Mmm, I want some nice bread now…
Ah, so it’s melon bread, that oh-so famous bread mentioned in manga that causes students create a huge stampede through hallways as soon as class finishes before lunch. Thanks for the info, quickjam! :D

“It turns out there’s truth to the old saying “Fresh eggs are for frying and older eggs are for boiling.” As Harold McGee notes in his book Keys to Good Cooking (Penguin, 2010), “Very fresh egg whites tend to stick to the inner shell and tear.” To test eggs’ freshness, drop them gently into a bowl of cold water. The freshest ones will immediately sink on their sides, while slightly older ones will tilt or even sit upright at the bottom of the bowl. Just be careful to avoid using eggs that float to the surface, a sign that they’re past their prime.”

Each cube represents 1 teaspoon.
Holy shit!
Well it’s all well and dandy that there’s a lot of sugar in food (half the time it’s what makes the food how it is and the other half it’s there because, let’s face it, no one likes bland food), but I want them to define what sugar is here. Is it all carbohydrates? How much of that is fructose, glucose, etc? How much of that is needed in our diet? Surely you can’t just use absolute sugar content as a strict indicator of what you should have in your diet, right? Then again, maybe I’m just making up excuses to continue eating food however I want.

“ZOMGBBQ, is that a honey cashew pizza!?!?! :O” - my first thoughts upon seeing this photo appear when I searched “honey cashew” on Google Images.
Unfortunately, it’s actually a “Honey Cashew Salted Caramel Tart” (also the photo source). Though the tart seems like a curiously crazy blend of flavours, the caramel kind of turns me off. Plus, how much more awesome would it be if there was a pizza with a cashews-and-honey topping (minus the cheese.. would that still be called a pizza though? Or would that be like a pizza base with stuff on it and baked like a pizza though it lacks the cheesy goodness so it’s not really a pizza?)?

9gag:
One day when I make myself a fancy-shmancy boxed lunch (inspired by all those bentos in mangas, whooo yeahh) this will be included. It’s just so cool. Though I don’t really want love hearts in my lunch so maybe I’ll just make these heart-shaped egg slices randomly one day, admire it and then eat it.
